1/5/2007 - Modular wireless robots
A set of four robots have been developed and constructed by Jose for his undergraduate final year project. The presentatation can be downloaded here. A set of demonstration videos have also been created. These are:
This project was supervised by Bala Amavasai
25/10/2006 - Mandriva 2007 toolchain
The toolchain for Mandriva 2007 is now available for download here . This is provided without warranties.
3/11/2005 - Linux support
We've had recent success in compiling the OR 1k toolchain for Mandrake Linux 2005, and will be offering it as a binary on 7/11/2005.
11/11/2005 - Linux support
The Python based flash programmer by Jennic is also Linux compatible
28/11/2005 - Windows IDE
Dev-C++ is an open source IDE that seems to be able to work with the JN5121 Makefiles. See thumbnail that shows compilation of BasicApplication.
Planned work
A carrier for the JN5121 module is current being designed and built. The carrier is essentially a 40 pin DIP adapter with an onboard programmer.
Current projects
- Design of a robotic platform using the JN5121 microcontroller (Jose Luis / Bala Amavasai)
- Design of low-cost globally controlled robot platforms for large scale swarms (Paul Scott-Wilson / Bala Amavasai)
- Voice control over IEEE 802.14.5 (Check Kok Choong / Bala Amavasai)
- A computer controlled drawing-bot (Laura Moreton / Bala Amavasai)
- Analysis of Zigbee protocol (Graham Swift)
- Large scale Zigbee networks (Bala Amavasai / Reza Saatchi) - fully funded students are encouraged to apply for a Ph.D. position
